well i am quite certain that you would have heard this famed song-"Hotel California-Eagles".

yup it is an all time classique.yet there is something very mysterious about this famed song.there is even a reason behind naming its album -"Hell Freezes Over".

first about the album.the band members were having a fued amongst themselves and one of the was quoted ."we would get back together ,when hell would freeze over",implying that it would never happen ,as hell is visioned as a place with fiery flames and heat.

but eventually they got together and they named the album -"Hell Freezes Over".

hotel california has rustled up some leaves as well.

there are many theories behind the theme of the song.one that i came up with was,the gold rush in the 1950s in california.everybody was clamouring to get their share of gold.how did i conclude?

Up ahead in the distance,I saw a shimmering light

But this wasnt justified enough.

The second theory talks about satan,drugs etc. and here's how

So I called up the Captain,
'Please bring me my wine'
He said ,"We haven't had that spirit here since 1969"

1969 was the year when the first satanic church was built and they registered it as 'Hotel California'.wine is an important symbol of the blood of Christ for Catholics and many christain denominations.the 'spirit' refers to to the Spirit Of Christ had not been present since 1969,upon the organization of the cult.one more alibi to this fact is an another part of the lyrics:

They stab it with their steely knives,
But they just can't kill the beast

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
'Relax,' said the night man,
We are programmed to receive.
You can checkout any time you like,
but you can never leave!

the beast in bible is refered as yours truly "satan".and he is considered immortal.also once you join a satanic cult,you can never leave it!

this one relates to drugs:

refers to burnt smell of marijuana,and after consumption ,he became dizzy and hence vision blurred .

other theories suggest that ,hotel california was a place haunted with ghosts and they were only alluring the weary traveller to come up to the place and after which they would devour him,and one discusses it being a viewpoint of a long term inmate of a mental hospital(really weird!)

however ,the artists had this to quote (i think):

"The real Hotel California is not a place;it is a metaphor for the west coast music industry and its effect on the talented but unwordly musicians who find themselves ensnared in its glittering web."

there also is a hotel california,the one shown in the pic is of 1950s,in Todos Santos, a town on Mexico's Baja California peninsula.Though the hotel shares its name with the song,it however has no relation as the Eagles say ,they have never been there,and were unaware of it!

whatever the weird concotions may be,this song has truly etched itself in history.the work, lyrically and musically has appeased every soul!
